Alvin L. (Lee) Burnett, 78, a resident of Rock Island for more than 40 years, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Howard J. Smith, East Patterson, N.J. He had been with his daughter for the last two months.
Mr. Burnett's former Rock Island address was 1428 31st St.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rock Island Free Methodist church. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. L.H. Seifert and the Rev. A.A. Finders will officiate.
Friends may call at the Hodgson funeral home from 7 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday.
Mr. Burnett was born May 7, 1876, in Carman, Ill. He married the former Miss Mary Louise Schwenker June 2, 1910, in Burlington. His wife preceded him in death on March 17, 1952.
He was a member of the Rock Island Free Methodist church.
Surviving are the daughter; a son, Henry L. Brunett, Blue Island, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. T.W. Scott, Dallas City, Ill., and Mrs. Meme Babcock, Gladstone, Ill.; a brother, Walter Burnett, Carman, and four grandchildren.
