Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise Burnett, 77, a Rock Island resident for 37 years, will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Hodgson funeral home.
Mrs. Burnett died at 1:41 o'clock yesterday afternoon in St. Anthony's hospital following a weeks' illness. She resided at 1428 Thirty-first street.
The Rev. L. H. Seifert, pastor of Free Methodist church, Rock Island, will officiate at services assisted by the Rev. J.A. Smith of the Evangelical United Brethren church, Canton.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Burnett was born Dec. 6, 1874, in Burlington, a daughter of Henry and Louise Schwenker. She received her education in Burlington schools, and was married to Alvin L. Burnett June 2, 1910, in Burlington.
They moved to Rock Island in 1914. Mrs. Burnett attended the Free Methodist church in Rock Island.
Surviving are the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Smith of East Paterson, N.J.; a son, Henry L. of Blue Island, Ill.; two brothers, George H. Schwenker of Rock Island and Albert R. Schwenker of Burbank, Calif., and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Daughter: Mary L. Smith passed away Jan. 22, 2004 at Cartonsville, MD. Her husband was Howard Jay Smith.
