Harriett Wannamaker Harden Gamble age 94, passed away October 24, 2014 at Manning Hospital.

Born in Richland County she was a daughter of the late Charles Douglas Harden and Miriam Bull Harden. She was retired from SC public and private school systems as a teacher, having taught in the following schools: Hebron, East Clarendon High School, Barnwell Jr. High School, Bowman, Wade Hampton Academy, and Brookland Plantation. A member of the American Legion Aux., and a member of The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church. Mrs. Gamble was a faithful pastor’s wife. She was a loving mother, deeply loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and extended families. She has left her family and friends with treasured memories. Her life touched many lives.

She is preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Nichole Rose Knight; three sisters, Ethel Harden Rowe, Elizabeth H. Welling, and Miriam H. Ringer.

She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 72 years, The Reverend Julian B. Gamble of Turbeville; three daughters of Greenville, of Salem, and of Easley. Eight grandchildren with five spouses, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4pm Sunday October 26, 2014 at The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be held from 2 - 3:30 pm, in the fellowship hall at the church, prior to the service

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ladies Bible Class of The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church and Pallbearers will be grandsons.
