He was born Nov. 9, 1922, at Warm Springs, Arkansas, to Samuel and Etta Frier.
Carl was a member of the Shannon Baptist Church in which he served as deacon for 60 years. He is also an Army veteran of World War II.
Carl is survived by his wife, Gana; children, Donna Kelly of Mobile, Ala., Wesley (Jan) Frier and Randy (Tracey) Frier, both of Pocahontas; grand-children, Cassie Jones, Leah Kelly Kraft, Dottie Weston and Jeremiah Frye; great-grand-children, Aden Kraft, Carlie Jones, Allyson Frier, Megan Wicker and Justin Wicker; and sister, Wilma Murrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, Baxter Spencer; son, Ralph Dennis Frier; siblings, Warren Spencer, Henderson Spencer, Doc Spencer, Kermit Spencer, Earleen Spencer, Willie Ilene Meeks and Deloise Lamb.
Both services were held at the Taylor-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Maynard Cemetery.
