Arlene J. Lerch, 79, of Williams Township, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 in Easton Hospital. Born March 6, 1925 in Port Trevorton, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Alma (Reichenbach) Herrold. Her husband, William R., died February 19, 2001.

She retired in 1985 from the former Homemaker Health Aide Service, Easton, where she was employed for 11 years. Prior to that, she was self-employed by the former F & L Landscaping, Easton, for 17 years. She was a graduate of Herndon High School. Arlene was a wonderful mother and took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest treasures were her faith and her family. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Williams Township, where she was a former choir member. She was a member of the Williams Township Fire Company Ladies auxiliary.

Survivors: Son, William R. Jr; daughter, Darlene J. Cumberland; a son-in-law, Howard Miller; brother, Frederick Herrold; sisters, Sylvia Merrill, Helen Bennett, Lottie Moyer; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ann Miller, and by two brothers, Carl and John Herrold.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial, Northampton Memorial Shrine.
