"RITES Set for Mary Randall
Alexandria - The body of Mrs. Mary Jane Randall, 77, former Alexandria resident, will arrive in Alexandria at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, and prayer services will be held in the Davis and Stricler funeral home. The Rev. Clayton Steele, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Starr Cemetery, north of the city.
Mrs. Randall died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Swisher, in Victoria, Tex. She moved from Alexandria about thirty years ago. Mrs. Randall was born in 1878 in Summitville, the daughter of Lewis and Sophia Mohler. Her husband, Cyrus Earl Randall, a Spanish-American War verteran, died in 1912.
Surviving besides the daughter in Texas is a brother, Charles Mohler, of California; two grandchildren, Jack Swisher, a student at Purdue University, and Neil Swisher, at home; a nephew, Earl Mohler, who lives east of Alexandria. Funeral services were held at the McCade-Carruth Funeral Home in Victoria on Sunday."
She had a heart attack while watching her grandson's baseball game and died in the ambulance in transit between Victoria and Austin.
