Mrs. Harris is the daughter of the late William and Edith Mefford Griffin. She was married June 3, 1934, in Paris, to Elvon Leroy Harris.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. and Ralph D. Harris, one sister Mabel Griffin, three granddaughters and two nieces.
Mrs. Harris graduated from Hunnewell school and attended Kirksville Teachers College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monroe City, the Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer member of OATS since 1986.
