Passed Away Yesterday Afternoon

Robert McCuen, well known over the county as "Uncle Bobby" McCuen, died yesterday afternoon at 1:50 o'clock at his home five miles east of this city, the result of a cancer growth which has afflicted his neck for the past few years. "Uncle Bobby" was one of the old time settlers of the county and probably no one was better known in this vicinity than he.

He came to this county from Pittsburg, Pa., in 1855, with Robert White and the two settled here and have since lived near each other. He married Mrs. Ketchum, a widow, and to them were born six children, three boys and three girls, all of whom have grown up to lives of usefulness. His wife still survives and she had six children before their marriage.

"Uncle Bobby" was known for his good qualities in the business world and in his social relations, and many friends will hear of his death with a tear of sadness. He has a number of relatives in this city and vicinity.

The funeral sermon will be preached at 10:00 o'clock tomorrow morning at the residence on the farm and the remains will be brought to Oakland cemetery in this city for burial. Rev. C . G. Miller, of the First Presbyterian church will conduct the spiritual rites.
