Arden D. Fichtner, 71, of Townville, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1925 in Hyndman, a son of the late Dalton and Florence (Campbell) Fichtner. On April 5, 1946, he married Charlotte Riser. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Arden Fichtner Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and David Fichtner of Townville; three daughters, Susette (wife of Roy Berdine) of Warren; Susan Mackworth of Meadville, and Greta (wife of Thomas Wice) of Dempseytown; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Cook of Lititz, and Eileen (wife of Robert Brode) of Barnstable, Mass.; several nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren. Mr. Fichtner was retired from the Pennsylvania Game Commission where he had been a land manager from 1969 to 1973 and a land management supervisor from 1973 to 1983. He also served as a game protector from 1957 to 1964 in Mercer County and from 1964 to 1969 in Craw County. He was a member of the Air Force 455 Bomb Group of World War II, the VFW in Greenville, the Masonic Lodge #498 in Linesville, the American Legion #994 in Townville, and the French Creek Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Mr. Fichtner was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Linesville. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Townville, with the Rev. Dwain Patrick officiating. Burial in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
