De Queen, Ark. - Emmitt Joe Willis, 79, of De Queen died Tuesday Oct 7, 2014, in Mena Ark.

Mr. Willis was born July 4, 1935, in Willis Springs, Okla. He was employed in timber, saw milling, building and land enterprises, a Christian and an Army and National Guard Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Greene Willis of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Paula Willis of Frankston, Texas, and Danny and Lisa Willis of De Queen; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Polly (Ray) Williams of Horatio, Ark., and Dixie Cavender and Hope and Don Gore of De Queen; five grand children; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday at First Assembly of God Church, De Queen, with Lankford Moore officiating. Private burial will be under direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, or Samaritan's purse.

He was born to Emmitt and Effous M. Wolf Willis, on July 4, 1935 at Willis Springs, Oklahoma. Joe served in the military with 101st Air Borne in the U. S. Army, and later in the National Guard. He was an entrepreneur in Land, Timber, Saw Milling, and Building . He was a Christian and a seeker of Truth and lover of people of Faith. He was a great hunter, and fisherman, and enjoyed his family, and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Roy Willis, Thelma Colston, Audie Dunn, Wanda Peek, and Bonnie LeForce.

Joe is survived by his wife of over 54 years of De Queen, two sons and daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, three sisters and a brother-in-law, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife's family, a brother-in-law, and a number of very special friends.

Public visitation will be on Thursday, October 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services for Joe Willis will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 10th in the First Assembly of God Church, De Queen, with Pastor Lankford Moore officiating.
