Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 am for Florence Bernard "Sis" Carr , 92, she died peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2014 at her residence.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum, Rayne, LA .
Surviving are one son, Ray Carr, one daughter, Annette Carr, one grandson, Robert McClellan, one niece, Linda Crum, great nephews and niecs, Todd Crum, Max Crum, Annie Crum, Joey Bernard, Jordan Bernard, Ashlyn Bernard, Carrie Bernard, three great great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ovida Anthony Bernard and Marie Louise LaCroix Bernard, brother, Frank J. Bernard, sister, Marjorie Rita "Coonie" Bernard, sister, Helena Bernard "Mousey" Bertrand, great niece, Lauren Bernard.
Florence was born December 14, 1921, in Rayne, LA to Ovide A. and Marie Louise LaCroix Bernard.
Sis worked for the telegraph company in Leesville and other parts of north Louisiana during World War II. After the war she returned to Rayne and worked at Mervin Kahn for 34 years.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her great personality and wonderful sense of humor. She never met a stranger.
A rosary will be recited Friday, October 17, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Gossen Funeral Home, in Rayne, LA.
Friends will be received Friday, October 17, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
