Thelma graduated from Hutchinson Community College and received her BFA degree in Art History from Wichita State University. She studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and the Paris American Academy in Paris, France. Thelma was a member of Kansas Art Guild, Kansas Watercolor Society and Wichita Women Artists and Artist Guild of Wichita. She exhibited and won prizes in juried shows and has had numerous one-person shows locally.
Thelma was recently selected for an international show in San Diego. Her paintings are included in a multitude of private collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Thelma was preceded in death by son, David Winn, parents, Millard Silas Bardwell and Hattie Glaspy Bardwell; siblings, Sibyl West, Mable Mittendorf, Mark Bardwell, Hetty Stutzman, and Bill Bardwell. Survivors: daughter, Martha Lee Winn; numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
