1871-1954
Adolph Paul Ewoldt, the son of J. H. and Lena Behrens Ewoldt, was born at Long Grove, in Scott County, Iowa, on April 1, 1871. He passed away at his home in Sutherland, Iowa, on February 3, 1954, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 2 days.
While still an infant, his parents moved to Tama County, and he lived there until 1S92. Then, at the age of 21 he came to O'Brien County, and has made his home here since that time. He attended the rural schools near his boyhood home in Tama County, and attended the Methodist church.
Mr. Ewoldt had been engaged in farming for many years, and until about 10 years ago was still active in that occupation. He had retired from his farm, however, and resided with his sister, Cora, in Sutherland. Besides his sister he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
