After a long and valiant battle with cancer, Dale J. Rushton, 66, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Littlefield, Arizona with his loving wife by his side. He was born December 12, 1947 in SLC, Utah to Chris Melvin and Mary Sophia Swain Rushton. He married Barbara Bohn Delgado in 1975. Dale attended Cyprus High School and lived in SLC for many years. He served in Vietnam, was awarded a Purple Heart , Vietnam Service Medal, with Bronze Star, CARCOM, CIB, and 3 Air Medals. He retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation. He raised and loved Barbara’s son, Troy Delgado, as his own. After Troy’s death, he took on the responsibility of raising Troy’s two children, Shawnie and Damon, and was a loving Grandfather. The family moved to Littlefield, AZ in 2003. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his grandchildren, sister-in-law, Betty (Richard) Miller, Beaver Dam, AZ, brother-in-law, Toad (Elaine) Bohn, Malad, ID, half-sisters, Verla Kingsbury, Janis (Golden) Coon, SLC, many nieces and nephews and three spoiled dogs, BB, Chewy and Henney. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and stepson. At his request there will be no public services.
