BARTOW, Fla. -- Mrs. Annie Laura Askew, 92, died Aug. 23 at a nursing home in Winter Haven, Fla.
She was born in Johnson County, Ga., and was a longtime resident of Soperton, Ga., before moving to Florida. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Bartow and the widow of Charles W. Askew.
SURVIVORS: two sons, Gerald W. Askew of Warner Robins, Ga., and Charles L. Askew of Meldrim, Ga.; three daughters, Ruth E. Askew and Ida Mae Wynns, both of Bartow, and Sara J. Dees of Winter Haven; a brother, Albert Smith of High Point, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Thursday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.
