Born in Providence, a son of the late Archibald D. and Elizabeth (Rose) Arnold, he had lived in South Kingstown most of his life.
Mr. Arnold was owner of the former Arnold's Garage, West Kingston, for many years, retiring in 1984.
He was an World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, David W. Arnold of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; one daughter, Cynthia S. Arnold of West Kingston; one sister, Mary E. Streeter of South Kingstown; three brothers, Robert D. Arnold, Alfred P. Arnold and Walter H. Arnold, all of South Kingstown; and two grandsons.
A graveside service was held on Saturday in the Wood River Cemetery, Wyoming, R.I.
