Obituary of Mrs. Hugh Findlay

Anna Belle, daughter of John and Mary Smith, was born April 14, 1848, at Richmond, Ohio, and died February 22, 1927, at St. Croix Falls, Wis, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 22 days.

She was united in marriage to Hugh Findlay Aug. 10, 1868. To this union were born 8 children. Her husband, one son, John Alexander, and one daughter Blanche Helen preceded her in death several year's ago. She leaves to mourn her departure two sons and four daughters: Mrs. Maud McCullough of Wheatland, Wyo.; William Earl Findlay of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Josephine Whitaker, of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; Hugh A. Findlay, Mrs. Mattie Nutt, Mrs. Alice Greenfield all of Douds; Twenty-two grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Findlay was a devoted wife and mother. She has been a member of the Methodist church since early girlhood. And at the time of her death was a member of Mt. Moriah church, and was a faithful follower of Jesus. To know her was to love her. Her kind deeds and strong character will ever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Funeral from the church in Douds, Iowa, Sunday, February 27. Rev. G.W. Barber, of Eldon conducted the services, assisted by Pastor Rowe. Burial in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
