Girl Burns to Death. Clothing Catches Fire While She is Boiling Potatoes
Prairie du Chien, Wis., Oct 16--A most distressing accident occurred on the farm of M. Toberman, near Eastman, this county, Saturday afternoon. Agnes, aged nine years, his oldest daughter, was boiling potatoes in a soup kettle over a bonfire when her clothes caught fire. Her screams were heard but before aid could reach her, her body from neck to knees was burned to a crisp. She died a few hours later.
