Mr. George Esby Fuller, 88, of Greensboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2014 at his residence. He had been in declining health since 2005 due to Alzheimer. He was born February 14, 1926 in Newberry, South Carolina to George Burley and Zula Strible Fuller. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Martha Humphries, Margie Cannon, and Kenneth "Kemp" Fuller. George is survived by his loving wife of 70 ½ years, Vernice Hamby Fuller; three sons Tony Ray Fuller (Dianne) of Julian, NC, Jerry Wayne Fuller (Libby) of Greensboro, NC, and Robert Warner Fuller (Jackie) of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren Stacy Harvell, Angela Heick, Shae Carter, Jeremy Fuller, and Ryan Pilkenton; eleven great –great grandchildren Lindsey Jones, Brooke Carter, Lexie Harvell, Lance Harvell, Benjamin Heick, Alexander Heick, Mandeline Heick, Samuel Fuller, Bailie Fuller, Emma Pilkenton, and Carter Pilkenton; four sisters Elise Summer of Pomaria , SC, Bobbie Jean Long of Sumpter, SC, Elden "Woodie" Bedenbaugh of Charlotte, NC, and Levenia "Punk" Beck of Newberry, SC; brother Paul Kemper "PK" Fuller of Charlotte, NC. George will always be remembered as one who loved the Lord and his family. He loved working in his garden then sharing his harvest. He will also be remembered is one who never met a stranger. For those who had the pleasure of meeting or working with him also recognized his incredible work ethic as well. George retired from Interstate Bakeries in 1971. After his retirement, he owned and operated the Quality Food Market on Summit Ave. in Greensboro. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at Faithway Baptist Church, 610 East Lake Dr. in Greensboro by the Reverend Jim Bledsoe and Elder David Robinette, where George was a faithful member and Deacon. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 pm Wednesday at Faithway Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faithway Baptist Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405. © 2014 McSwain-Evans Funeral Home
