Warner Ira Bowman, 87, Amazonia, Mo., passed away on April 20, 2008, at a St. Joseph, Mo., health-care center.
Warner was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Nodaway County, Mo., the son of Ira and Effie (Warner) Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.
He enjoyed farming all of his life.
He was a member of St. Johns Church, where he also served on the board of directors.
He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge for many years, served on the A.S.C. Committee of Andrew County, and the Andrew County Mutual Insurance Board of Directors.
On June 25, 1952, he married Vera (Henderson) Bowman at St. Johns Church in Amazonia.
She preceded him in death on April 28, 1985.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son, David W. Bowman; brother, William; and nephew, Dennis Bowman.
Survivors include his brother, J.R. Bowman and wife, Sylvia, Savannah, Mo.; sister, Illa Strasser, St. Joseph; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were held at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Mo.
Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Amazonia, Mo.
