Zelda ''Betty'' Klave Berry, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away January 16, 2004. She was born August 4, 1909 in Daviess Co., IN. She was a counter clerk at Sanders Cleaners for 28 years, retiring in 1984. Zelda, ''Betty'', as she was known to most of her racing friends, was a big help with her late husband, Herb in their passion for midget racing. They started this with their own midget in 1947. Later, they along with others, had a part in forming a club called Car Owners Racing Association, better known as C.O.R.A., which later went on to be a part of (N.A.M.A.R.), National Association of Midget Auto Racing. They also were big supporters of their son, Jim Berry and his family in three-quarter midget racing. They were also past members of Hoosier Auto Racing Fan Club. Her husband, James Herbert Berry and daughter, Betty Amt preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Maryjean (Tom) Sparks and Jimmy (Saundra) Berry; 6 grandchildren, Tracy Amt, Terri Schneider, Michael Sparks, Karen Barker, Julie Cunningham and Darla Berry; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucille Grider; and 2 brothers, Frank ''Bud'' and Herbert Klave. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 20 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., with visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Crown Cemetery.
