David Childs died in Athens, Bradford County, Pennyslvania on Sep 23, 1896. The Bradford County Daily Review, Sept 25, 1896 lists his death: "David Childs of Sheshequin, who suffered a stroke of paralysis at Athens on Wednesday morning, died at the home of his brother at that place last evening. He was 68 years of age and was twice married. His wife and two children, Mrs. (Anna) Arvilla Walker of Litchfield (Pennsylvania), and Myers Childs of Athens, survive him. The funeral will be held this forenoon, with interment at Hornbrook church at 1 o'clock."

The Reporter Journal, Oct. 1, 1896 lists his death: "David Childs of Sheshequin suffered a stroke of paralysis in a barber's chair at Athens on Tuesday of last week. He was taken to the residence of his brother, R. C. Childs, in that village, where he died at about 6 p.m. of the same day. The deceased was about 69 years of age. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon and the remains were interred at Hornbrook."

Myers Childs apparently moved to Pennsylvania for a short time in the 1890's and Anna Arvilla and her husband, Otto Walker, had moved to Pennsylvania sometime between about 1891 and 1894. David and Sarah had moved back to Pennsylvania sometime after Mar 1891, perhaps they all moved at the same time. David also had another daughter, Orletta, married to William Keith, who had moved west to Wyoming and later went on to the west coast. She died in 1942 but it appears that the family must have lost touch with her as she was not mentioned in the obit. Myers moved back to Nebraska by 1900 but Anna lived out her life in Bradford County and just north outside the county in Tioga Co., NY.
