Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Craghead was born in Motley County and was raised in Cottle County. She was valedictorian of her 1936 graduating class at Dumont High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1937 to attend beauty school. She married James F. Craghead in 1939 in Amarillo. He passed away in 1990. Mrs. Craghead was a hairdresser until 1962, when she started working with her husband in their business, Jim's Carbonic. She retired in 1986. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church. Mrs. Craghead loved to garden, loved to eat coffee ice
cream, and most of all, loved being "Mammy" to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include three daughters, Wynona Day of Amarillo, Jan Clowe and husband, Dick, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Carol Pipes and husband, Bill, of Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Clara Vick of Dimmitt, Kathrine Nolan of Michigan and Naomi Bonner of Austin; 12 grandchildren, Kristi, Kelly, Julie, Blair, Bryan, Jill, David, Doug, Lisa, Laurie, Kevin, and Cindy; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
