JOHN H HANSSEN OF CHILTON DIES FRIDAY AFTERNOON
CHILTON – John H. Hanssen of this city died at 1:30 p.m. Friday at his home here. Born in town Eaton, Manitowoc County, on Aug. 6, 1867 the son of Hans Jacob Hanssen and Caroline Baster, he was married Dec. 28, 1915 to Clara Johanna Reblitz in Chilton.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Ronald of Chilton and a sister, Mrs. Henry Kaiser of Kiel. Two brothers, Otto and Fred, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Arps, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral home here with the Rev. E. L. Hennig officiating, and burial will be made in Hillside Cemetery.

Hanssen, John (later changed name to Hansen) (Aug. 9, 1867-June 8, 1945 –husband of Bertha Roeh [married Nov. 23, 1892 in civil ceremony in Town of New Holstein, Calumet County] –after the death of Bertha on June 11, 1912, John re-married to Clara Reblitz [married Dec. 29, 1915 in civil ceremony in Chilton, Calumet County] –son of Hans Jacob Hanssen and Caroline Basten –born Town of Eaton –farmer –on Nov. 4, 1912 purchased 5 acres in the northwestern corner of the NW1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 30, Town of Eaton from Hans and Caroline Hanssen –on March 20, 1915 purchased 16 acres of lowland in the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 31, Town of Eaton from Hans and Caroline Hanssen –held this land until his death in 1945 –at time of these transactions was a resident of Chilton, Calumet County –died from “cerebral hemorrhage, 6 hours –chronic myocarditis, 2 years –generalized arteriosclerosis”) –buried at Hillside Cemetery, Chilton, Calumet County [first marriage record Calumet 3-135] [death record Calumet 11-498
