Veneta A. Hight, 78, of 3820 W. Coal St. died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1991, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 31, 1913, in Delafield to William and Molly Coffman Sinks . She married John E. Hight on April 27, 1937, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died April 7, 1981, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Spangler-Weller of East Peoria and Mrs. Patricia Bollinger of Peoria; two brothers, Robert Sinks of East Peoria and Lawrence Sinks of Lawrence, Kan.; three sisters, Bernadean Chouch of Peoria, Maxine Barton of Chillicothe and Hazel Stewart of Lawrence, Kan.

She was a former member of the Limestone Township Board of Trustees, a past chairman and member of the Peoria County Democrat Women's League and a member and past chairman of the Limestone Township Democrat Women's League.

Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
