Born Aug. 8, 1917, in Delafield to William and Mollie Coffman Sinks, he married Thelma Hinshaw on Oct. 14, 1936, in Lacon. She died July 27, 2001, in Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Jr. (and Donna) and Richard, both of East Peoria; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He worked for L.E. Myers Co. He last worked for West Central Utilities, retiring as a digger operator on Nov. 27, 1981.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 51 and Operating Engineers Local 649.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parkview Chapel of Peace in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Galen Courtright will officiate. Entombment will follow the services. Arrangements are by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
