14 April 1954: Harry C. Cassel, 77, of 516 West Main Street, Hummelstown, died yesterday in a Harrisburg hospital. He had been suffering from a lingering illness. He was a prominent member of the Hummelstown Reformed Church. He was a former treasurer of the church consistory and at the time of his death was a church elder. Cassel was a member of the Russell L. Moyer Bible Class. He was a retired conductor from the Reading Railroad and was a former chairman of the brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He was a member of the Railroad Relief Association. Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Annie Deimler Cassel, two sons and two daughters: Truman S. and Clair L., both of Hummelstown; Mrs. Mary Arntz, Lebanon; and Mrs. Julia Rohland, Harrisburg. Also surviving are two brothers William, Springfield, Ill.; and Monroe, Lebanon; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. [Lebanon Daily News]
