Raymond Jackson, age 95, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri.
Raymond was born on April 13, 1919, in Caldwell County, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Jewell Marie Ragan Bothwell on January 17, 1964, in Hamilton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2002. Raymond was a farmer and farmed in the Wolf Grove Community in Breckenridge, Missouri. He served his country during WWII and was stationed in England while overseas. He returned to his farm in Missouri on January 5, 1946. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Tweedie Murray Post 117. He attended the Methodist Church, Breckenridge, Missouri.
Survivors include three step children Barbara Connor and husband Dan of St. Joseph, Missouri, Carol Herrick of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jim Bothwell of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister Edna Fay Wright of Braymer, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jewell Jackson; and two sisters Willa Lee Arr and Reva Penfold.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation held on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri. Burial will be held at the Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer American Legion Post 117 and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
