Services for France Barton, 78, of Matador will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Felton Gilmore, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery under direction of Seigler Funeral Home.

Barton died Wednesday, April 2, 1997, in St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

He was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Flomot Community. He was a veteran of World War II, and he married Eugenia Garrison on Dec. 15, 1940, in Spur.

He was a farmer and a stockman. A son, Mike, died in 1980.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Coke of Midland; two daughters, Dixie Campbell of Matador and Brigedcq Brooks of Amarillo; two sisters, Mollie Burleson of Floydada and Mary Ellen Barton of Flomot; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Anthony's Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo 79176, or to East Mound Cemetery Association in Matador.
