Funeral services for Thomas Francis Kinney, 72, well known local retired farmer were held at St. Luke Catholic Church here yesterday morning at 10 a.m.

Mr. Kinney passed away at his home Tuesday following an extended illness. He was born in Bluff Springs, the son of John and Isabella (McKillip) Kinney. He married Mary Josephine Ryan on Jan. 29, 1901 in Chicago. His wife, Mary J., survives. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Isabelle (Kinney) Devine proceeded him in death in June 1935. He spent practically his entire life in this community. Services were conducted by Rev. Frederick Neveling and burial was at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Also surviving Mr. Kinney are six grandchildren, Mary, Frank, Johnny, Rose, James, and June Devine, sisters-in-law, Anna (Hinson) Kinney, Ellen (Devine) Kinney, and Sarah (Ryan) Daly, nieces Rose (Kinney) Lerch, Marguerite (Kinney) Schneider, and Helen (Daly) Lunden, nephews Lawrence Kinney, Patrick and John Daly, cousins Mary (Kinney) Collins, John B. Kinney, Ray and George Greuel.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter Mary and son Fletcher, brothers Patrick, John, John, Denis, Daniel, Daniel, Daniel, and Michael, sisters Rosana, Catherine, and Mary, and cousin Rose (Kinney) Greuel, and father and mother-in-law, James and Sarah Ryan.

Thomas Kinney is buried near his daughter, son, and father-in-law, surrounded by four K's.

He is my great Grandfather.
