Funeral service for retired airline Captain, Lawrence “Larry” Smalley, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at House of Prayer Holiness Church, north of Claremore.

Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 29 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; family will receive visitors from 6-8.

Larry went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at the age of 73.

Larry was born on March 24, 1941 in Powell, Wyo., to Wayland Eli and Barbara (Barkwell) Smalley.

Captain Larry Smalley retired from Northwest Airlines in 2001. He continued his involvement with breeding and raising thoroughbred race horses and custom hay baling until health challenges forced him to retire once again in August of this year.

He is preceded in death by his parents, former wife Carol Smalley and his sister-in-law, Kathy Smalley.

Larry is survived by his wife Janice Cox of the home; his brother Myron Smalley of Riverton, Wyo.; his sons and daughters-in-law Wayland and Marci Smalley of Chelsea, Jeff and Sandy Smalley of Olympia, Wash., and Niel Clark of Billings, Mont.;

his step-daughter, Lynda Rice of Claremore and step-son, Martin Rice of Jacksonville, N.C.; his grandchildren Rachael and Nathan; his step-grandchildren Alanna, Jess and Benjamin; his step-great grandchildren Aiden and Dani.
