TOM RISER DIES SUDDENLY; RITES ARE CONDUCTED

Was Son of Ruston Pioneer Citizen; Leaves Family

Mr. Riser was born at Ruston and was the son of the late Andrew Riser, one of the pioneer citizens of Lincoln parish. Many years ago Mr. Riser came to Ouachita parish and for a number of years he had operated a dairy on the Natchitoches road out of West Monroe.

In 1903 he married Miss Lou Ellen Brown of Lake Providence. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Evans of Ruston and Mrs. Frank Ortis of West Monroe; two sons, Melvin and Fred Price Riser of West Monroe, and two brothers, Adam H. Riser of Ruston and Melvin Riser of Ardmore, Okla.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence on the Natchitoches road, with burial following at 4 p.m. in Greenwood cemetery at Ruston. Rev. E. F. Hayward, pastor of Grace Episcopal church of Monroe, and Rev. Louis Hoffpauir, pastor of West Monroe Methodist church, will officiate.
