Early Life: June was born January 24, 1920, in Nephi, Utah, to Earl Victor Ellison and Fern Haynes Ellison (later, Worthen).
Life's Work | Service | Interests: In November 17, 1939, June married Joseph Edward Stein in Heber, Utah. They raised four children: Linda (Keith) Prior, of St. George, Utah; Mary Jo Broadbent (deceased); Jim (Susie), of Novato, California; and Tom, of Hollister, California. They had eight grandchildren: Joe, Kelly, Chris, Benjamin, David, Jimmy, Matthew and Christopher; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. To her family, June left a legacy of personal integrity, compassion and respect for others as well as a commitment to family and her LDS faith. After her children were raised, June enrolled in Rockland College in New York and graduated as a Registered Nurse, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She loved her career in nursing and spent several years working at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. She was a lovely lady who will be missed by many. Alice "June" Ellison Stein passed away at her home in Hollister, California, with her family by her side, on August 4, 2014, at the age of 94.
Family Message: "June's family appreciates the devoted care given to her by her son Tom which allowed her to remain independent and live in her home. They would like to express their thanks and love to him."
Survived By: Two sons, one daughter, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her brother, Kay Worthen, of Las Vegas, NV; and her sister, Mary Mahar, of Tucson, Arizona.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Joe; daughter, Mary Jo; her parents; grandsons: Benjamin Prior and David Broadbent; and brothers: Jack Ellison, Bud Ellison and Richard Worthen.
