Rose Marie Augustine (Lang), 84, Ellis, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at her home. She was born August 16, 1930 at the family home farmhouse south of Ellis to Ignatz and Rosa (Weber) Lang, Jr.
She married William Pat Augustine on August 16, 1949, in Ellis, Kansas.
She worked for Hallmark as an inspector when she lived in Lawrence, Kansas; in the post office while she lived in Watkins, Colorado; and for most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis and St. Mary’s Altar Society.
She is survived by two daughters; Cheryl (Augustine) Noles and husband Richard, Aurora, Colorado; Roberta Augustine, Ellis; four sons; Kenneth Augustine, Ellis; Raymond Augustine and wife Shirleen, Hutchinson; Michael Augustine, Hays; and David Augustine and wife Kristie, Odessa, Texas; one sister, Stella Augustine (Lang) Ellis; fourteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, two sisters, and an infant daughter.
Services will be on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis, Kansas; burial in the Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at Keithley Funeral Chapel and from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
A parish vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the church.
Contributions are suggested to St. Mary’s School or St. Mary’s Church.
