William P. Augustine, 86, Ellis, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home. He was born March 17, 1928 in McCracken KS to John and Regina (Schuster) Augustine. He married Rose Marie Lang on August 16, 1949, in Ellis, Kansas.

He was a farmer and then a signal maintainer for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis and a life-time member of the Ellis Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Ellis, two daughters; Cheryl (Augustine) Noles and husband Richard, Aurora, Colorado; Roberta Augustine, Ellis; four sons; Kenneth Augustine, Ellis; Raymond Augustine and wife Shirleen, Hutchinson; Michael Augustine, Hays; and David Augustine and wife Kristie, Odessa, Texas; two sisters Dorothy (Augustine) Weber and husband Leonard, Ellis; Betty (Augustine) Younger and husband Richard, Hays; fourteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, two sisters, and an infant daughter.

Services will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis, Kansas; burial in the Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 3 – 5 p.m. at Keithley Funeral Chapel and from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service and vigil will be at 7 p.m.
