"James P. Isbell enlisted Nov. 11, 1861 at Wilsonville and deserted from camp near Pollard July 14, 1863. He was arrested and returned to camp and was a patient in Ross Hospital, Mobile Oct. 7, 1863. He was wounded in the hand at Kennesaw Mt. June 21, 1864 and paroled at Newton, N. C. April 19, 1865."
