Death of Miss Alexander
Miss Margaret Frances Alexander died at her home in East Franklin, Saturday morning at 7:30, following an illness of several months. Miss Alexander had been under the care of a trained nurse for the past six weeks. Deceased was a daughter of George and Margaret Alexander and was of a family of nine children. R.A. Alexander of this city being the only surviving member of this large family; a brother, Stephen Alexander, having died in Oklahoma two months ago.
Miss Alexander was born south of this city, November 3rd, 1835 [stone shows Nov 23] and was in her seventy-ninth year. she was one of those rugged pioneer characters, having many noble and sterling traits that won for her the warm friendship of many of her acquaintances. Deceased was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian church for a period of several years, with which church her father and family had held membership.
The funeral services will be held at the home of R. A. Alexander, Monday afternoon at 2:00, conducted by Rev. Mr. Scroggs of the Shiloh church. Interment will be made at Greenlawn cemetery.
