....Jeff Nelson was born to the union of Benjamin Franklin and Callie Kelley Nelson....he was the third oldest of a family of 3 brothers and 6 sisters living in Lynchburg, Moore, Tennessee....his dad was a Farmer and Magistrate in that county most of Jeff's growing up years...In February 1900 Jeff married Nettie Ellen Ingram and she died in childbirth in 1903. Thirteen years later he married Birdie Ella Mason and together they were the parents of six children four boys and two girls....they grew to adulthood and had full lives....

Moving himself and his family to Lauderdale County Alabama around 1920....Jeff was convicted of a second degree murder and was tried in Colbert County Alabama and incarcerated in Atmore Prison, Escambia, Alabama November 5, 1935...it was while serving his time at Atmore that Jeff contracted influenza and passed away.....it is assumed by this author he is interred on the prison grounds at Atwood Prison....
