KAYSVILLE, Utah - Bernice Rigby Egbert, 86, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2003 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She was born April 17, 1916, in Bancroft, Idaho the eighth of 12 children to Alfred and Lillian Rigby. She married Ira J. "Rusty" Egbert May 17, 1935 in Logan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 6, 1954. Ira passed away February 13, 1988.
Bernice resided in Kaysville for over 70 years. Throughout her married life she worked side by side with her eternal companion on their farm. Bernice gave unconditional love to all those she met, and dedicated her time and service to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Kaysville 20th LDS ward. She served as a Primary teacher and as a Relief Society visiting teacher for many years.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Bonny Soltys, Kaysville; I.J. (Peggy) Egbert, Bountiful; Blaine (Carol) Egbert, Florida; and four granddaughters, Tracy, Tammy, Trudy, Lynn and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving, sister, Marjorie Sparkes, and brother, Reed Rigby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira J. "Rusty" Egbert, two sisters, seven brothers and one granddaughter, Tiffany
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood LDS Stake Center, 855 E. Mutton Hollow Road. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
