KAYSVILLE -- Max Ben Rigby, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, age 79, passed away February 22, 2002 in Ogden, Utah. He was born July 23, 1922 in Bancroft, Idaho, the son of Alfred and Lillian S. Wright Rigby. He married Elva Fern Bennett on March 20, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. Max was a lifelong resident of Kaysville.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, in the China/Burma/India theatre.

Max retired from Utah Power and Light Co. after 37 years of service as a lineman and supervisor. He served on the Board of Directors of Weber Basin Water Conservancy District for 10 years.

He was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, serving as Bishop, High Councilman and various other callings. He served a mission with his wife in the Raleigh North Carolina Mission.

The most important thing in his life was his family. He never missed important events in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and was their number one fan.

He is survived by his wife, Fern , Kaysville; one son, Roger B. (Ermona) Rigby, Kaysville; two daughters, Maxine (Myron) Richins, Henefer; Paula (Nolan) Fawcett, Layton; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Reed (Lela) Rigby, Layton; two sisters, Bernice Egbert, Kaysville and Marjorie Sparkes, Layton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at Kaysville LDS Tabernacle, 198 West Center.

Family and friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist"s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Tabernacle.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
