Willis Ewing, 31, passed away last Wednesday at Postville hospital where he had been taken that morning following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Forest Mills United Brethren church Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Wayne Hargrave and the Rev. Curtis Webster officiating. Interment was in Postville cemetery.

Mr. Ewing was born August 26, 1916, on a farm in Ludlow township as the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ewing.

At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm in Franklin township where he grew to manhood. He received his early education in the Forest Mills school and upon graduation also attended Postville high school.

He was united in marriage to Helen Jacobia of Postville, February 28, 1938. To this union was born two sons, David, age eight, and Jerry, age six. In addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ewing, his wife, Helen and two sons, David and Jerry, he leaves to mourn his passing, five brothers, Harry of Monona, Arthur of Postville, Keith and Kenneth of Postville, and Charles, Jr., at home, also two sisters, Mrs. Keith Bloxham of Waukon and Mrs. James May of Postville.
