Mrs. Merkley died Wednesday morning in a Calgary nursing home. She was born in Chesterville, Ont., and moved to Calgary in 1916. She was a member of Central United Church. Her husband, William, died in Calgary in 1928.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. S.H. Hutt, Chesterville; Mrs. George Collinson, Calgary; three sons, George of Chesterville; Ashton, Winnipeg; and Harold of Calgary; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Austin Gray of Winchester, Ont.; and a sister, Mrs. Laura Hart, Gilbert Plains, Man.
