Mrs. John Crain Rites Held Here

Funeral services for Mrs. John H. Crain, 86, of Texarkana, formerly of San Saba, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Howell-Doran Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. L. White. Burial was made in Wallace Creek Cemetery with Howell-Doran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Her nephews served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Crain died Wednesday, April 15, in Wadley Hospital at Texarkana where she was a patient for nearly a week.

She was born Nellie Cravey on Dec. 31, 1878, in Bexar county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cravey. Her husband died Match 26, 1960.

She had lived many years in San Saba prior to her moving to Texarkana.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Birt Coughran of San Saba, Mrs. Audie McGuffin of Texarkana, Mrs. Lavernia Kelso of Austin, Mrs. Cull Ragland of Mexia and Mrs. Ralph Abbott of Luling; four sons, Allen Crain of Cherokee, Jack Grain of Bay City, Arthur and Pete Crain, both of Austin; 22 grandchildren, 52 great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.
