Peter Schumer Sr
St. Stephen -- Peter Schumer Sr. died October 12 at 1:30 p.m., his death caused by a heart ailment. He was born in St. Stephen June 29, 1877, and spent his entire life there. In 1910 he married Agnes Smoley.
Monsignor J. J. Omann, Cleveland, Ohio; Rev. Edward Ramacher, Sartell; and Rev. Edwin Omann, pastor of St. Stephen church officiated at the solemn requem high mass offered at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the St. Stephen's Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery.
Nephews were pallbearers - Peter L. Schumer, John Schumer, John Smoley, Jacob Slamnik, Joseph Trobec, W. F. Vouk. A grandson Jack Kussman was crossbearer.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Joseph Kussman (Lorraine), Waite Park; Mrs. Joseph Sieverding (Veronica), at St. Cloud; Mrs. John Thomson (Edna)and Elmer Schumer, Minneapolis; Mrs. Bernard Omann (Olivia) St. Stephen and Walter at home. Two children died in infancy. There are 13 grandchildren.
