Hattie was the daughter of Mose and Sarah E. (Conger) Howard.

Hattie was first married to Jerome Galland on April 1, 1894, in Wapello County, Iowa. She and Jerome had three children: Harold, Floyd, and Lillian.

She married Tom Cason on August 28, 1907, in Schuyler County, Missouri. They had one son, Tom.

Hattie married Edward M. Peck on May 21, 1912, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Edward and Hattie had a daughter, Maxine.

Her last marriage was to Fred Haselton on September 20, 1920, in Ottumwa. They had one son, Fred.

Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, November 28, 1955:

Mrs. Hattie Haselton, 79, of Ottumwa route 7, died at her home at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

She was born in Appanoose county, March 29, 1878, and had been a resident of Wapello county most of her life. She was a member of the Davis Street Christian church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W.T. McElroy of Ottumwa and Mrs. Raymond Boiler of Muscatine; three sons, Harold Galland at home, Floyd Galland of San Antonio, Tex., and Tom Cason of Ottumwa; a brother, Jay Chance of Casper, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Ada Smith of Ottumwa route 6; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three stepbrothers, Byrd, Tom and Doll Chance, all of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D. Hasleton, June 6, 1948, by one son, Fred Haselton, Jr., who was killed in action during World war II, by two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Smith and one in infancy, and by a step-brother, Cord Chance.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. Harold J. Brown, D.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
