ANDERSON - Floyd W. "Dobby" Anderson, 72, 16114 Anderson Road, Pecatonica, died at 10:26 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 1984, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Born Sept. 22, 1911, in rural Pecatonica, son of Oscar and Hulda Anderson. Lived all his life on the family farm. Married Ruth Rafferty in Pecatonica, Nov. 26, 1934; she died in 1964. Then married Barbara Rockey in Pecatonica, Dec. 25, 1965. Self-employed farmer; also employed by J.J. Case Co. 18 years before retiring. Member First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica; director of state of Illinois County Fairs Association; director Pecatonica Produce Supply Co.; member Pecatonica Lions Club; Winnebago County Farm Bureau; and former member Sumner Park board. Attended Pecatonica schools.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, James A., Pecatonica; three daughters, Jean Ann Oppegard, Davis, Deborah and Darla Anderson, both of Pecatonica; seven grand-children and a great-grandson; two brothers, Warren, Rockford, and Fay, Pecatonica; three sisters, Mrs. Glenwood (Gladys) Eckburg, Mrs. Delbert (Ruth) Seyler and Mrs. Donald (Doris) Whitney, all of Pecatonica; several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by parents, a brother, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, in First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, with the Rev. Joseph A. Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial in Pecatonica Cemetery. Arrangements by Kenneth L. Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial fund established in his name.
