The couple ran a boarding house in Gilt Edge, Fergus County, Montana in 1900.
Maggie & Joe had 5 children in Montana before relocating to Catheys Valley, California (1909-10) where Joe worked as a laborer on a quail farm. Joe's heart soon gave out and he passed in 1911.
Maggie was the owner of a stock ranch in 1920 and an auto business in 1930, both in Mariposa County. She must have been quite the entrepreneur.
