Vada Barnhart, 86, Meta, died Saturday at Still Regional Medical Center (Jefferson City). She was born June 14, 1906, in Miller County, a daughter of Lewis and Henrietta Orr Bilyeu. She was married Aug 20, 1924, in Vienna, to Arlie Barnhart, who died Dec. 5, 1990.

She worked as a seamstress for several clothing factories before her retirement. She was a member of the Campground Christian Church, Meta.

Survivors include: one son, Charles Barnhart, Meta; two brothers, Winfred Bilyeu, Meta and Harold Bilyeu, St. Elizabeth; one sister, Mae Pendleton, Meta; and two grandchildren. One daughter, Clarice, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home, Meta. The Rev. Earl Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the Stokes Cemetery, Meta. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the Stokes Cemetery Fund.
