Veterinarian 52 years Stricken suddenly
Barneveld – Dr. Luther G. Moore, 72, widely known veterinarian, died suddenly at his home here on Thursday.
He was born in Trenton Falls, Feb. 23, 1873, the third son of the late Archibald and Cornelia Jones Moore. He was graduated from Ontario Veterinary College, Toronto, Canada, on March 23, 1893, and had practiced his profession here for 52 years.
On April 24, 1895, he married Mable Griffith of Barneveld and the couple marked their golden wedding last April.
Dr. Moore was a member of the Unitarian Church where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees; a member of the Layman's League of which he was treasurer; a member of Remsen Lodge 677, F. & A. M. for 50 years; past president of the village of Trenton, and past president of the Barneveld Library Association.
Besides his widow, he leaves a son, Ralph D. Moore, Utica; a daughter, Mrs. William E. Day, Richfield Springs; two grandchildren, William Moore Day, U. S. Navy; and Joyce Frances Day, Richfield Springs; a niece, Miss Genevieve Moore, and two nephews, Archibald and Pentland Moore, all of Trenton Falls.
