Isabel Young was born in Dayton, the daughter of Jesse James & Sarah 'Hill' Young. She was raised on the farm with 10 siblings in Franklin County, Indiana.

She married William Glaze on 17 Feb 1863 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

They had 6 children including one adopted:
1. Laura Mae Glaze (1863-1893)
2. James Alvin Glaze (1868-1950)
3. Ida "French" Glaze (1870-) who was the daughter of Isabel's sister Emaline.
